Baked Macaroni and Cheese


For White Sauce
2 tblsp butter or margarine
3 tblsp all-purpose flour
2 cups milk

2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
salt to taste
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced (I used garlic paste)
8 ounces macaroni pasta, cooked

Serves 5


1. Prepare White Sauce as per recipe.

2. Add 1 cup Cheddar cheese, salt, and black pepper, whisking until cheese melts.

3. In a pan, heat a little oil and saute the chopped onions and garlic. Add pasta and White Sauce tossing to coat.

4. Pour mixture into a lightly greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup Cheddar cheese.

5. Bake at 350 F on center rack for 15-20 minutes or until cheese melts and gets slightly brown.
