Tomato Pasta Sauce


2 tblsp olive oil
1 onion, diced
3 clove garlic, minced (I use Garlic paste)
1 can Italian-style diced tomatoes, undrained
1 tblsp dried basil leaves
3/4 tsp white sugar
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tblsp butter

Serves 5


1. Heat olive oil in a pan and saute onions and garlic over medium heat. Keep stirring so that it doesn't stick to the pan.

2. Add tomatoes, basil, sugar, oregano, salt and pepper.

3. Bring to boil and continue to boil 5 minutes or until most of the liquid evaporates. Remove from heat.

4. Stir in cream and butter. Reduce heat and simmer 5 more minutes.

5. Puree the above in a blender to the consistency you like.

6. Serve favorite pasta topped with this sauce
