Serves: About 15 vadas
Ingredients: 1 cup Chana Dal, soaked overnight(min 3-4 hrs) 1 Onion, chopped fine 1/2 cup Dhaniya leaves, chopped fine 2 sticks curry leaves, chopped 3-4 green chillies, chopped finely 1 tsp Ginger 1/2 tsp Jeera 2 tblsp besan |
Method:
- Grind the soaked chana dal coarsly. I normally use a food processor to grind as that keeps it coarse.
- Add the rest of the ingredients. Besan is added to help in binding since the dal was grounded coarsely.
- Heat oil to medium heat for deep frying.
- Make balls using this batter, flatten it slightly and carefully drop in oil(without breaking). Deep fry. Do not try to fry too many vadas at the same time in lesser oil, since the vadas will stick to each other.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney.
